0 Comments 14 January 2015

According to a VoIP Article on Wikipedia, VoIP started to be massively used in 2004 by consumers. Since then, their has been a exponential growth in users using VoIP technology worldwide. According to Local Telephone Competition report, consumers would rather use VoIP than traditional phone services. Why not? VoIP is cheap and more reliable than PSTN services.

FCC was able to investigate that 25% of residential phone customers use VoIP rather than normal telephone services. This is big growth and it is destined to rise even more. Consumer demand in items can only lower costs for equipment and per minute rates so this is more than good news for all of use who use VoIP at the moment.

As more users stop using traditional phone services, the competition will level out the high priced providers and in the end benefit us. We can only wait and see what the future has in hold for VoIP. For some of us, it is the only option of make cheap calls to our loved ones abroad.
